Tomba dei giganti di Li Lolghi, Bronze Age burial site in Arzachena, Italy.
This megalithic tomb near Arzachena from the Bronze Age features a series of stones arranged in decreasing height. The structure forms a semicircle made of large blocks fitted together without mortar.
Built by the Nuraghic civilization between 1500 and 1200 BCE, this tomb reused some older building elements. This period marked a peak in megalithic construction on the island.
The name refers to the giants' tombs that ancient Sardinians built to honor their dead. Visitors can still see the semicircular arrangement of stones today, which reveals how important community and togetherness were in this ancient culture.
The site is located in the Gallura region and is open during daylight hours. Wear sturdy shoes since the ground is uneven, and bring water especially on hot days.
This is the largest example of its kind on Sardinia, built with fourteen monolithic stones. The carved entrance stone has an unusual curved form that catches the eye.
