Nuraghe La Prisgiona, Bronze Age archaeological site in Arzachena, Italy.

Nuraghe La Prisgiona is a Bronze Age settlement with three towers, a central courtyard, and around 100 circular stone structures spread across a large area. The layout shows careful planning for defense and daily life, with distinct zones for different activities.

The settlement was inhabited between the 14th and 9th centuries BC, marking the presence of the Nuragic civilization in northern Sardinia. This period saw stable communities develop and maintain their presence across the island.

The central meeting hut with its stone bench for 16 people reveals how the community gathered to discuss important matters together. Such gathering spaces show that shared decisions and collective life were central to how people organized themselves.

The site is best explored with a guided tour that explains the defensive structures, water systems, and residential areas throughout the complex. Plan to spend enough time walking the uneven terrain and exploring the scattered structures.

A seven-meter-deep well held numerous decorated ceramic vessels, showing the site served both practical needs and ceremonial purposes. This blend of everyday and special functions was typical of early settlements in the region.
