Monte Cristallo, Mountain peak in Veneto, Italy.
Monte Cristallo rises to 3,221 meters with multiple summits, forming a long indented ridge within the Dolomites mountain range near Cortina d'Ampezzo.
The first documented ascent of Monte Cristallo occurred on September 14, 1865, when mountaineer Paul Grohmann successfully reached its summit through the Normal Route.
The mountain stands within the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage site, representing exceptional geological formations that define the northern Italian landscape.
Access to Monte Cristallo begins at Passo Tre Croci, with the complete journey to the summit requiring approximately four and a half hours of climbing.
Two glaciers grace the northern side of Monte Cristallo: Ghiacciaio del Cristallo and Ghiacciaio del Popena, contributing to its alpine characteristics.
