The National Archaeological Museum occupies two levels within the 13th-century Ruspoli Castle, presenting artifacts through chronologically arranged exhibition rooms.
The museum opened its doors in 1967 to showcase archaeological finds from the necropolis of the ancient Etruscan city of Caere.
The collection contains ceramics from bucchero, amphorae, funerary vases, and sarcophagus lids that reveal the practices of Etruscan civilization.
The museum welcomes visitors from Tuesday through Sunday between 8:30 AM and 7:30 PM, with regular admission tickets priced at 6 euros.
In 2015, the museum acquired the Euphronios Krater and Kylix, two Attic red-figure ceramics dating from the 5th century BC.
