Santi Bartolomeo e Gaetano is a Renaissance church in Bologna with a central nave, decorated ceilings, and multiple chapels. A bell tower completed in 1694 completes the structure following classical Renaissance principles.
The original church dates from the 5th century, but the current building was designed in 1516 by architect Andrea da Formigine for the Gozzadini family. This rebuilding marked a fresh start for the site.
The ceiling paintings are by Angelo Michele Colonna, while the altars hold works by Ludovico Carracci and Francesco Albani. These artworks shape the interior and reflect the artistic flourishing of that period.
