The palazzo features symmetrical architecture with a grand facade constructed of local stone and decorated with classical ornamental elements.
The construction of Palazzo Malvezzi began in 1560 under the direction of architect Bartolomeo Triachini, commissioned by Paola di Antonio Maria Campeggi.
The Sala dello Zodiaco contains ceiling frescoes depicting astrological symbols and the Martyrdom of Saint Eufemia by Gabriele Ferrantini.
The building currently functions as the headquarters for the Provincial Administration of Bologna and stands at number 13 Via Zamboni.
Ferdinando Galli-Bibiena designed the monumental staircase in 1725, which Alfonso Torreggiani later completed with architectural modifications.
