Torre del lebbroso, Medieval tower in Aosta, Italy.

The Torre del Lebbroso stands on the western side of Augusta Praetoria's ancient Roman walls, featuring a square plan with external stairs.

Built in the 11th century, the tower belonged to the De Friour family until 1773 when the Mauritian Order purchased it for housing leprosy patients.

The tower gained literary recognition through Xavier de Maistre's 1811 novel about Pietro Bernardo Guasco, a resident who lived there with his sister.

Located at Via Tour de Lepreux 2, the structure now serves as an exhibition space managed by the Autonomous Region of Valle d'Aosta.

The tower incorporates parts of an earlier Roman fortification, with several original Roman windows still providing natural light to its interior levels.
