Construction began in 1374 under Duke Gian Galeazzo Visconti's commission, with Bernardo da Venezia as architect, reaching completion in 1461.
The church contains numerous 15th-century frescoes in the transept and houses the relics of Blessed Bernardine of Feltre since 1811.
The church stands at Via del Carmine 11, with its 75-meter bell tower marking the highest point in the Pavia skyline.
The facade incorporates five vertical sections divided by six pilasters, displaying both Romanesque and Lombard Gothic architectural elements.
