Galileo's house, 15th-century palazzo in Costa San Giorgio, Florence, Italy
The residence features a stone facade adorned with the Galilei family coat of arms and a portrait of the renowned scientist Galileo Galilei.
Galileo's family acquired two connected houses between 1629 and 1634, with the first property purchased by his son Vincenzo from Iacopo Bramanti Boschi.
During the 1633 plague procession of the Madonna of Impruneta through Florence, the house contained an altar and a fountain attributed to Galileo's design.
The palazzo stands at number 19 on Costa San Giorgio street, near the former Convent of San Girolamo where Galileo's relatives served as nuns.
While Galileo faced trial in Rome, his house in Florence remained a center of scientific discussion, hosting numerous scholars and prominent figures.
