San Pietro Somaldi, Lucca, Roman Catholic church in central Lucca, Italy

The San Pietro Somaldi church features a stone facade with white stripes and a blind loggia decorated with capitals and reversed foliage patterns.

The church, founded in 763 by Bishop Sumualdo, was rebuilt between the 12th and 14th centuries, incorporating elements of Romanesque architecture from Pisa.

The central portal displays a significant relief sculpture from 1248 by Guido Bigarelli, depicting Saint Paul receiving the keys.

The church contains three naves supported by sandstone pillars and preserves a seventeenth-century organ built by Domenico Cacioli.

The organ bears the signature of composer Giacomo Puccini, who played this instrument before moving to Milan for his musical career.
