Chiesa di San Girolamo is a Gothic church located in Mestre. The interior showcases high wooden roof trusses and ribbed vaults that display the transition from Romanesque to Gothic architectural language.

This church was established in 1261 on the grounds of a hermit's dwelling and served as a place of worship for centuries. It suffered damage during regional conflicts and underwent major reconstruction in 1520 when it was reconsecrated.

The church is named after Saint Jerome, and its main altar piece, from the circle of Palma il Giovane, shows him striking his breast beside the Madonna and Child, Saint John the Baptist and Saint Philip Benizi. In the presbytery a cedar crucifix of the 15th century is still venerated: tradition says the boatmen carrying it were forced to bring it here.

This church is open to visitors during daytime hours, and it is wise to check specific times before your visit. When entering, dress modestly and behave respectfully, as this is an active place of worship used by the local community.

The bell tower holds three bells, with one dating from 1520 that was installed during the church's reconstruction. This historic bell remains in use today, now electrified, continuing to ring out across the neighborhood to mark worship times.
