Santi Quaranta Martiri e San Pasquale Baylon, Rome, Baroque church in Trastevere, Rome, Italy.

The Santi Quaranta Martiri e San Pasquale Baylon features a single nave with three chapels on each side and a decorated dome with religious frescoes.

The church, founded in 1122 by Pope Callixtus II, underwent reconstruction in 1736 under architect Giuseppe Sardi and received patronage from King Philip V of Spain.

The main altar displays the painting 'Martyrdom of the Forty Martyrs' while Matteo Pannaria created the dome fresco depicting 'The Apotheosis of St Paschal'.

The church maintains regular mass schedules and welcomes visitors to explore its architectural elements, religious artworks, and historical features throughout the week.

Local traditions associate Saint Paschal Baylon with the creation of zabaglione, a dessert made from eggs and marsala wine, originally called 'sanbaion'.
