The cemetery was established in 1946 to honor Polish military personnel who fought in the Italian campaign between autumn 1944 and spring 1945.
Engineers Z. Majerski and Michał Paszyna designed this memorial site, incorporating elements that reflect Polish military traditions and architectural principles.
Located on Via Dozza Giuseppe 32 in Bologna, the cemetery remains accessible for visitors who wish to pay respects to fallen soldiers.
Polish forces were among the first Allied troops to enter Bologna on April 21, 1945, alongside the Majella Brigade.
