Croz dell'Altissimo, Mountain summit in Brenta Dolomites, Italy.
Croz dell'Altissimo rises 2,339 meters above sea level, featuring two distinct peaks and a prominent southwest face that extends 900 meters vertically from Val delle Seghe.
In August 1910, guide Angelo Dibona and his team completed the first technical ascent of the 900-meter vertical west wall, establishing the now-classic Via Dibona route.
The mountain hosts numerous climbing routes, including the Armani-Fedrizzi Dihedral and Via Detassis, which demonstrate the evolution of Italian mountaineering techniques since the 1930s.
Access to the mountain begins at Molveno village, where a cable car transports visitors to Rifugio La Montanara, serving as the starting point for various climbing routes.
The mountain's east face drops dramatically into Lake Molveno, creating a natural amphitheater that reflects the limestone walls during sunrise and sunset.
