Lago del Corlo, Artificial lake in Arsiè, Italy.
Lago del Corlo is an artificial lake near Arsiè that stretches through the lower Feltre area and reaches toward the ruins of the old hamlet of Rocca. The water reaches depths of about 68 meters and is surrounded by hillsides that reflect in its surface.
The dam was constructed in 1954, which caused several small settlements to flood and forced about two thousand five hundred people to leave their homes. This event permanently changed the geography and life of people in this valley.
The Casel de Melam Museum in Mellame di Arsiè shows how milk was traditionally processed and demonstrates regional cooking methods through hands-on displays. Visitors can see how local products are made and learn about the food traditions of this mountain area.
Visitors can enjoy multiple water activities such as boating, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing in designated areas along the water. Picnic spots are scattered along the shoreline for a more comfortable stay.
The lake contains three bridges, including the Ponte della Vittoria, which hangs suspended by ropes above the water. From this suspended bridge, visitors can see the bell tower that lies submerged beneath the surface.
