Monte Tomatico

Monte Tomatico is a mountain summit in the Venetian Prealps that reaches 1,595 meters in elevation. The peak is part of the Grappa Massif and sits within a landscape of steep slopes and dense forest cover.

The mountain carries traces of past military conflicts, with documented events near a summit cross that reflect the regional wartime history. This connection to the past gives the peak significance within the broader mountain region's narrative.

Local shepherds and woodcutters established the initial network of paths across Monte Tomatico, creating routes that remain active for modern hiking activities.

A marked circular hiking route from Porcen covers 13 kilometers and is suitable for experienced mountain walkers. The trail demands good footing and endurance, as the path climbs through multiple elevation zones.

From the peak, visitors can see down into the Sedico valley and across to nearby areas including Porta Oria and the Vincheto di Celarda nature reserve. This view links the summit to a diverse landscape that extends beyond the immediate ridge line.
