The museum displays original paper manufacturing equipment in a restored 13th-century mill building along the Valle dei Mulini of Amalfi.
Established in 1969 by Nicola Milano, the museum preserves traditional papermaking techniques from the period when Amalfi produced cotton-based paper for European markets.
The museum exhibits document the evolution of paper production methods through centuries, demonstrating the technical processes used by local craftsmen.
Located at Via delle Cartiere 23, the museum offers guided tours in multiple languages, with demonstrations of handmade paper creation lasting 30 minutes.
Visitors can observe functional medieval paper presses and participate in the creation of handmade paper sheets using historical techniques.
