Castagnola Palace is a residential palace located in the heart of La Spezia featuring classic Italian design with symmetrical facades and multiple stories. The building displays typical regional architectural details with carefully crafted window frames and entrance areas.

Palazzo Castagnola is the oldest of the residences of the marquises Castagnola of La Spezia. The original building was separated from today's Via Gioberti by a garden and a vegetable plot with vines, bordering the city walls. Its exterior facades were almost completely transformed in works carried out in the years after the First World War, while the interior keeps its Genoese Baroque layout with family heraldic emblems, chiselled away under the Napoleonic Ligurian Republic. The last restoration, in 2021, gave the building new light.

The Castagnola Palace represents the architectural preferences of La Spezia's upper class, incorporating regional building techniques and decorative elements.

The building can be viewed from the surrounding streets while exploring the historic center of La Spezia. The location is easily accessible on foot and can be visited as part of a walking tour of the city center.

The family coats of arms inside were chiselled away under the Napoleonic Ligurian Republic, so the heraldic signs survive only as defaced traces.
