Palazzo Comunale, Municipal palace in Livorno, Italy
The Palazzo Comunale features a double marble staircase leading to the first floor and a small bell tower at its peak for council meetings.
Following severe earthquake damage in 1742, the palace underwent reconstruction in 1745 with a new monumental double staircase designed by Bernardino Ciurini.
The ceremonial hall contains a Murano crystal chandelier and displays paintings by Luca Giordano and Justus Sustermans, enriching the palace's artistic heritage.
The palace functions as Livorno's town hall, housing municipal offices and administrative services for citizens in a central location of the city.
The council hall presents bas-reliefs depicting city history, busts of notable Livornese figures, and a flag commemorating the 1849 siege of Livorno.
