Palazzo Fibbioni

Palazzo Fibbioni is a Renaissance palace in L'Aquila featuring a three-part facade with a rusticated stone portal located at Via San Bernardino at the Quattro Cantoni intersection. The building contains a central courtyard and multiple stories with varied room sizes and functions.

The Fibbioni family originally came from Novara province and built this palace in the late 1500s. The structure suffered significant damage over time and underwent major restoration work to ensure its survival to the present day.

The courtyard displays typical Renaissance elements with arcades and columns that reflect how the building was used in daily life. The rooms were designed to serve both official functions and to showcase the lifestyle of a prominent family from that era.

The building now serves as L'Aquila's city hall and sits in a central location that is easy to reach on foot. Note that it functions as an administrative building, so not all areas may be open to the public.

The interior features intricately crafted wooden ceilings and paintings by local artists that showcase Renaissance style. These decorative elements reveal how wealthy families decorated their homes with artworks during that period.
