San Martino a Gangalandi

San Martino a Gangalandi is a Renaissance church in Lastra a Signa with several chapels and a tall bell tower on its left side. The interior displays Renaissance features and adjoins a museum holding religious objects.

The building was first recorded in 1108, but took its current form after a major redesign in the 15th century. Leon Battista Alberti, a celebrated architect, led this transformation that reshaped the church.

The church houses artworks by Lorenzo Monaco and other pieces that reflect the artistic values of the time. These works show what mattered most to the people who gathered here for worship.
