Torre Comentina, Medieval tower in Asti, Italy.
Standing at 38.55 meters tall with a square base of 3.32 meters per side, Torre Comentina features plain walls and multiple windows on each facade.
Built in the 13th century, this tower displays distinctive swallow-tail battlements and remained one of only two original towers preserved in Asti through centuries.
The tower served as a command post for the traditional Palio horse race that took place along the main street of Contrada Maestra.
Torre Comentina stands at the intersection of Piazza Roma and Corso Alfieri in the San Martino-San Rocco district of Asti.
This structure represents the tallest tower not only in Asti but in the entire Piedmont region of Italy.
