Allianz Tower, Postmodern skyscraper in CityLife district, Milan, Italy.
Allianz Tower is a postmodern high-rise in the CityLife district with 50 above-ground floors and a curved glass facade. The building houses the headquarters of Allianz SpA and provides extensive office space across its multiple levels.
Construction began in 2012 under architects Arata Isozaki and Andrea Maffei and finished in 2015. The project was part of the city's redevelopment of the former fairground site.
The tower is known locally as "Il Dritto" and marks Milan's transformation into a modern business hub. Its contemporary design shapes the character of the CityLife district and reflects the city's economic evolution.
The building is visible from outside and shapes the skyline; access is primarily for employees and authorized visitors. The best viewpoint is the surrounding pedestrian area, which offers a good overview of the architecture.
The facade consists of eight modules with six floors each, and the short sides are fully glazed to reveal the panoramic elevators. These elevators move between levels and offer an unobstructed view of the city as they rise.
