Villa Favorita, Italian national heritage villa in Baraccola, Italy

Villa Favorita sits on a hilltop with an octagonal shape featuring roughly a hundred windows that flood the rooms with light. A large park surrounds the building and complements its elegant design.

Merchant Luigi Ricotti, who gained nobility through trade, commissioned the building between 1798 and 1808. The structure later became the setting for important negotiations that shaped the region's political future.

The interior showcases Venetian geometric floors and neoclassical wall decorations that reflect the family's wealth and connections. The central hall with its domed ceiling and large windows created an elegant space where important gatherings could take place.

The site is now used by a research institution and is not regularly open to the public. If you wish to visit, check in advance about special events or occasions when access might be possible.

The villa hosted pivotal international negotiations that redefined territorial boundaries in the nation. Decisions made within its rooms shaped the region in ways still felt today.
