Villa Favorita, Italian national heritage villa in Baraccola, Italy
Villa Favorita stands on a hilltop, featuring an octagonal layout with 100 windows and encompasses a 16,000 square meter park.
Count Luigi Ricotti, a merchant who gained nobility through trade, commissioned the construction of Villa Favorita between 1798 and 1808.
The interior displays Venetian-style geometric floors, Neoclassical wall decorations, and a central hall with a domed ceiling illuminated by large windows.
Since 1998, Villa Favorita functions as the headquarters of ISTAO, the Adriano Olivetti Institute for Advanced Economic Studies.
The peace treaty following the Battle of Castelfidardo was signed at Villa Favorita on September 29, 1860, marking Ancona's annexation to Italy.
