Villa Sperlinga

Villa Sperlinga contains a central quadrangular courtyard built around Torre Spatafora, featuring extensive gardens and traditional Mediterranean architectural elements.

The villa's original structure dates from the 15th century when the Spatafora family constructed a defensive tower to protect their agricultural lands.

The villa includes the Chiesetta dell'Immacolata chapel and rooms with painted decorations depicting the Four Seasons by artist Onofrio Tomaselli.

The property maintains two distinct garden areas: the Giardino Cuffaro with rare plant species and the Fiorera, a square enclosed garden from 1840.

In 1947, Villa Sperlinga served as a meeting location for the Sicilian Independence Movement, involving the Cuffaro family and regional politicians.
