Villa York

Villa York is a private historic residence in the Valle dei Casali between the Gianicolense and Portuense districts in Rome. The property features tall trees and rose gardens along the entrance path, with heated halls, a swimming pool, and fountains distributed across the grounds.

The property was first developed in 1647 by Zenobio Baldinotti on former Church land, and later came into the hands of Cardinal Henry Benedict, Duke of York. These changes in ownership shaped the location into what it became.

The villa displays Baroque architecture designed by Pietro Paolo Drei with paintings by Giovanni Ulisse Cariaci from the late 1600s adorning its rooms. These artistic elements reflect the tastes and skills of that era.
