Mastroberardino, Wine estate in Atripalda, Italy
Mastroberardino is a winery in Atripalda with over 200 hectares of vineyards spread across Campania. The estate specializes in three distinctive wines: Aglianico, Fiano di Avellino, and Greco di Tufo.
The estate was founded in 1878 by Angelo Mastroberardino and has been managed by eleven generations of family members since then. This continuity has allowed the business to preserve traditional farming practices over more than a century.
The winery partners with archaeologists to recreate ancient Roman wines using historical grape varieties and methods. This collaboration shows how the region traces its winemaking tradition back to classical times.
The property sits at Via Manfredi 75-81 in Atripalda and welcomes visitors in different ways. Guided tours, wine tastings, and direct purchases are available, though you need to arrange this in advance.
During the 20th century, the winery produced more than half of Campania's DOC wines and over 90 percent of Taurasi DOCG production. This dominance made it the largest wine producer in the region during that era.
