Santa Maria Assunta

Santa Maria Assunta is a baroque church in central Marostica featuring a distinctive facade framed by paired columns and an interior with eight altars. The bell tower, completed in 1711, rises prominently above the surrounding area.

The site began as a baptismal church in the 8th century, but the structure you see today took shape after major rebuilding in the late 1600s. Its consecration in 1701 marked the completion of this transformation.

This place has been the spiritual center of Marostica for centuries and still shapes how the main square looks and feels today. The artworks inside show the artistic styles that mattered to people across different periods.

The church sits in the heart of town and is easily accessible on foot, with the exterior viewable anytime. Be aware that interior access depends on service schedules, so visiting outside of those times may not be possible.

The bell tower holds four bells with a layered history: three were cast by Colbachini of Bassano del Grappa in 1799, while one was recast in 1922. This craft work reveals what the community valued in sound and quality.
