Abbazia di San Giuliano

The San Giuliano Abbey stands at 628 meters altitude, featuring a triple lancet window with layered arches and three naves separated by stone columns.

Built in the 12th century, the monastery's origins trace back to Syrian monk Saint Isacco, who received land from a woman named Gregoria in the 5th century.

The interior preserves a 15th-century Madonna with Child and frescoes by Maestro di Eggi in the apse, representing medieval religious art.

The abbey is located 5.3 kilometers from Spoleto on the road leading to Monteluco, accessible by car or hiking trails.

Three underground chambers used as ossuaries from the post-Renaissance period were discovered during archaeological excavations in 2004.
