Civic Museum of Rieti

The Civic Museum of Rieti is an art and archaeological institution split across two different buildings in the historical center of the city. One location displays paintings and artistic works, while the other presents pieces from ancient and early historical periods.

The museum was founded in 1865 from a collection of ancient inscriptions originally kept in the town hall. Over time it expanded through acquisitions from religious institutions and developed into a two-location institution.
