Laguna di Mistras

The Mistras lagoon extends along the eastern coast of Sinis di Cabras, bordered by coastal plains and the Gulf of Oristano waters.

The lagoon received international recognition through the Ramsar Convention due to its crucial role in preserving wetland ecosystems and wildlife populations.

Traditional fishing practices within the lagoon support local communities while maintaining balance with environmental conservation measures in the protected area.

The protected zone spans 713 hectares, with coordinates at 39° 53' 54" N - 08° 27' 46" E, situated within the Mediterranean biogeographic region.

Inside the lagoon, a sand arrow divides the water into two sections: western with straight shores and eastern with irregular coastlines.
