Castello Cantelmo, Medieval castle in Pettorano sul Gizio, Italy.

The castle exhibits an irregular layout with cylindrical towers at the northwestern and southwestern corners, plus a pentagonal tower in the center.

Built in the 11th century, the castle became a Norman fief before being assigned to the Cantelmo family by Charles I of Anjou in 1310.

The fortress demonstrates medieval defensive architecture with its high walls, arrow slits, and strategic position controlling the Gizio River valley.

Following restoration in the 1990s, the castle now functions as an exhibition space hosting temporary displays and photography competitions.

The central pentagonal tower, considered the oldest part of the structure, features a raised entrance marked with the Cantelmo family coat of arms.
