Sanctuary of Most Holy Mary from the Height, Catholic shrine at Monte Bonifato in Alcamo, Italy.
The religious complex stands at the summit of Monte Bonifato, featuring a single nave church with three altars dedicated to different saints.
In 1558, three Carmelite friars established the first documented church on this mountain following the discovery of a sacred Virgin Mary icon.
The sanctuary holds annual celebrations between August and September, concluding with a procession on September 8th for the Nativity of the Virgin Mary.
Visitors can reach the sanctuary through a pathway that includes fourteen stations of the Cross, installed in 1703 for prayer and reflection.
According to local tradition, in the 16th century, young women dressed as the Virgin Mary would climb to the sanctuary to request rainfall.
