Riserva naturale regionale orientata Palude del Conte e Duna Costiera - Porto Cesareo

The reserve spans 898 hectares of protected land, encompassing coastal dunes, wetlands, marshes, and reed beds along the Salento coastline.

The Italian government established this natural reserve on March 15, 2006, to safeguard the local ecosystems and preserve native species.

Scientists conduct research programs within the reserve to study migration patterns of birds and document Mediterranean plant distributions.

Visitors can access the reserve through designated trails, with the management office located at Via Petraroli 9 in Porto Cesareo.

Natural springs emerge underwater along the Punta Prosciutto cliffs, creating a network of channels that flow through the Arneo Forest.
