Saint Dominic Church, Gothic church in Castelvetrano, Italy
The Church of San Domenico displays a sandstone facade with a triangular tympanum supported by pilasters featuring Corinthian capitals and a central window with a balustrade.
Built in 1470 under Giovan Vincenzo Tagliavia's direction, the church underwent modifications from Gothic to Mannerist styles before the introduction of Baroque elements.
The Tree of Jesse stucco work inside the church depicts the genealogical lineage from Jesse to the Virgin Mary through twelve kings of Judah.
The church contains three naves with ten side chapels, while the central nave leads to a presbytery enhanced by Gothic architectural elements.
The Choir Chapel, designed by Antonino Ferraro da Giuliana in 1577, features a dome decorated with frescoes depicting the Resurrection, Assumption, Pentecost, and Death of Virgin.
