Spiaggia di Bagnaia

Spiaggia di Bagnaia is a public beach on Elba Island's northern coast combining fine sand with colorful pebbles across roughly 300 meters of shoreline. Clear waters and mountain borders frame the setting, with restaurants, shops, and a sailing school positioned along the waterfront promenade.

The beach sits below Volterraio Castle, a medieval fortress standing guard over the Portoferraio gulf since the 11th century. This stronghold has defined the coastal landscape and its story for many centuries.

Fishermen from the area work at the small pier, selling their daily catches directly to visitors and local restaurants. This working tradition continues to shape daily life at the beach.

At low tide, natural pools form in the seabed made of pebbles and sand, creating excellent spots for snorkeling and watching marine life. These pools shift with the tides, offering visitors fresh perspectives on the water each time.
