Cima del Monte

Cima del Monte is a mountain peak near Porto Azzurro on Elba Island that can be reached by hiking trail. The path winds through vineyards and rocky ground, climbing to roughly 516 meters above the sea.

The mountain became known in the 1980s when a hiking route was created connecting various settlements along Elba's northern coast. This route integrated the peak into the region's network of organized walking paths.

Local residents maintain traditional grape cultivation methods on the mountain slopes, preserving centuries-old agricultural practices within the Mediterranean landscape.

The climb is steep and requires suitable hiking gear and sturdy footwear. Shade is scarce along the way, so starting early and bringing water and sun protection are important.

From the top you can see both the northern and eastern coasts of Elba and on clear days the Italian mainland across the water. This wide view makes the summit popular with photographers.
