Spiaggia di Sèrapo

Spiaggia di Sèrapo is a Mediterranean beach in Gaeta with fine white sand and transparent water backed by Monte Orlando Natural Park. The shore stretches roughly 1.5 kilometers and is lined with beach clubs offering chair and umbrella rentals, while waterfront restaurants serve fresh seafood dishes.

The beach was gradually reduced in size during the 1900s when sand extraction for the local glass industry became widespread. This industrial practice significantly altered the coastline and shaped the economic history of the region for decades.

Locals gather here during summer months, turning the shore into a social hub where families and friends spend their days together. The beach clubs create a relaxed atmosphere typical of Italian coastal life, where meals and conversation blend seamlessly.

The beach is most comfortable during early morning and late afternoon hours, as it gets crowded during midday in summer. Facilities like restrooms and lifeguard stations are available at the beach clubs, and parking is readily accessible near the shore.

The view includes Montagna Spaccata, where three vertical cracks split the mountainside from top to bottom in a striking geometric pattern. This unusual geological formation has served as a landmark for sailors throughout history and remains one of the most distinctive coastal features to observe.
