The Museo nazionale Collezione Salce occupies two locations in central Treviso, including the San Gaetano complex and the former Santa Margherita church.
Ferdinando Salce started his collection in 1895 when he purchased his first poster, 'Incandescenza a gas Auer' by Giovanni Maria Mataloni, for one lira.
The museum holds 50,000 posters and graphics that document the evolution of Italian advertising, printing techniques, and visual communication from different periods.
The museum maintains continuous rotation of materials through monographic and thematic temporary exhibitions, with dedicated restoration laboratories and specialized storage facilities.
The collection represents the largest assembly of advertising graphics in Italy, featuring chromolithography, zincography, offset, and photomechanical printing methods.
