Torre di Bobbiano, Medieval defensive tower in Travo, Italy

The stone tower features a square floor plan with a sloping base and stands at 445 meters above sea level in the Chiosi basin.

The fortress complex was first documented in 1037 when Teodosio von Isembrando acquired several farms and fortified buildings in the Piacenza area.

The tower and adjacent church of San Michele represent typical defensive architecture from medieval Italy, reflecting military strategies of that period.

Visitors can reach the Torre di Bobbiano by following the road from Travo toward Bobbiano and Pietra Parcellara, with the tower visible from distance.

The tower entrance sits above a barbican fold, incorporating vaulted posts with rounded arches that demonstrate medieval engineering techniques.
