Palafitte di Ledro, Archaeological site at Lake Ledro, Italy

The prehistoric settlement contains wooden stilts along the eastern shore of Lake Ledro, extending 160 meters in length at an elevation of 651 meters.

The settlement was discovered in 1929 when the lake level decreased by seven meters, revealing ancient artifacts and ceramic fragments between wooden posts.

The museum displays original Bronze Age items including bronze crowns, daggers, axes, and a pine tree canoe measuring 4.5 meters in length.

The site opens daily from March to June and September to December between 9:00 and 17:00, while summer hours extend from 10:00 to 18:00.

Scientists found complete clothing items made from plant and animal fibers, establishing this location as the northernmost settlement of the Polada culture.
