Camping Fusina, Campsite near Venice, Italy
Camping Fusina is a campsite in Fusina, on the edge of the Venice lagoon in northern Italy, open throughout the year. It offers pitches for tents, campervans, and caravans as well as bungalows and mobile homes, laid out on flat ground facing the water with a ferry dock just steps away.
The campsite was designed in 1957 by Carlo Scarpa, a Venetian architect known for his careful, structured approach to space. His influence can still be seen in the layout of the paths and buildings across the site.
Camping Fusina is one of the few campsites near Venice that stays open all year, which gives it a particular place among travelers from many countries. Guests from across Europe and beyond often gather in the evenings near the bar, sharing stories about their journeys through northern Italy.
The campsite sits in Fusina, on the southern edge of the mainland facing Venice, and is easy to reach by car from the A4 highway. A ferry to Venice departs right from the site, so no private vehicle is needed to visit the city.
The site sits right at the point where the Naviglio Brenta river meets the lagoon, so guests can watch both river traffic and lagoon boats from their pitches. Large cruise ships passing on their way into Venice are clearly visible from certain spots on the campsite.
