Sarfatti Building, University building in Milan, Italy
The Sarfatti Building features a cross-shaped architectural plan with geometric lines, two interior lion statues, and bas-reliefs beneath the exterior porch.
Italian architect Giuseppe Pagano designed this educational structure in 1937, which opened as the first building of Bocconi University campus in 1941.
The structure represents Italian Rationalist architecture principles through its geometric design, influenced by the Bauhaus movement of the early twentieth century.
Students access classrooms, study areas, and dining facilities within the building from Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 9 PM.
Sculptor Arturo Martini created medieval-style lion statues for the main entrance hall, while Leone Todi contributed bas-relief artworks along Via Sarfatti.
