Senkawa Station, Metro station in Toshima, Japan
Senkawa Station is an underground railway station in Tokyo that serves as a connection point between two separate metro lines on different basement levels. The Yurakucho Line operates on the second basement level while the Fukutoshin Line runs on the third basement level below it.
The station began operations in 1983 serving the Yurakucho Line before the network was expanded. In June 2008, the Fukutoshin Line opened and added a second service at the same location.
Local residents and workers rely on Senkawa Station daily, as demonstrated by the average passenger count of 37,251 people recorded in 2023.
The station has multiple entrances and exits equipped with elevators to help you move between different levels easily. Safety doors at the platforms were added in 2014 to protect passengers boarding and leaving trains.
The station carries dual designations Y07 and F07 corresponding to its two lines and functions as a bridge between separate parts of the network. This connection allows transfers that would otherwise require surface travel.
