Akinada Bridge, Steel suspension bridge in Kure, Japan.

The Akinada Bridge extends 1,175 meters across the Seto Inland Sea, with its central span measuring 750 meters and towers rising 119 meters above water.

Construction of the Akinada Bridge commenced in 1995 and reached completion in 1999, marking a significant advancement in Japanese regional infrastructure development.

The Akinada Bridge received the Japan Society of Civil Engineers Tanaka Prize for its engineering excellence and contribution to transportation infrastructure.

The bridge connects Honshu with Shimo-kamagari Island through Hiroshima Prefecture Route 74, serving vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists with a 12.7-meter-wide deck.

Daily traffic volume reached 4,000 vehicles upon opening in January 2000, exceeding initial projections of 2,400 vehicles by a substantial margin.
