Higashi-Kushiro Station, railway station in Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan
Higashi-Kushiro Station is a small railway stop in Kushiro with a simple structure featuring one waiting room and a platform accessible by footbridge and level crossing. The building dates from 1957 and is managed by JR Hokkaido, with two tracks serving the Nemuro Main Line and the Senmō Main Line.
The station opened on 16 March 1925 as a signal stop and became a full passenger station in 1928. The current building from the 1950s replaced the original structure, marking the evolution of the local transport system in Hokkaido.
Since the station is unattended, tickets can be purchased on trains or at machines. Visitors should prepare snacks and drinks in advance and check schedules, especially for early or late trains, to arrive on time.
