Korakuen Stadium, Defunct baseball venue in Japan

Korakuen Stadium was a major sports complex in Tokyo, Japan, that hosted baseball games and other sporting events. The facility held thousands of spectators and served as home to several professional baseball teams across multiple decades.

The stadium opened in 1937 and became one of Japan's premier baseball centers through the following decades. It was demolished in 1988 to make room for the Tokyo Dome project.

The venue played a central role in how professional baseball took root and grew in Japan, drawing fans who gathered to watch and celebrate the sport.

The site no longer exists and cannot be visited as it was completely demolished. Visitors interested in the location can explore the Tokyo Dome, which was built on the same spot.

The stadium was designed by Ryūtarō Furuhashi and was known for its innovative architecture for its era. The design principles later influenced other sports facilities across Japan.
