Edogawa-ku, Special ward in eastern Tokyo, Japan

Edogawa spans 49.90 square kilometers along the Edo River, forming the easternmost part of Tokyo and bordering Chiba Prefecture on its eastern edge.

The area received its official ward status in 1943 through the consolidation of seven towns and villages, including Koiwa, Komatsugawa, Kasai, Matsue, Mizue, Shinozaki, and Shikamoto.

The Edogawa Goldfish Festival in July celebrates the local goldfish cultivation industry from the 1800s with traditional games and exhibitions.

Transportation access includes the JR Sobu Line at Hirai and Koiwa stations, JR Keiyou Line at Kasai Rinkai Koen station, plus multiple Toei and Tokyo Metro connections.

Kasai Rinkai Park contains Tokyo Sea Life Park, which features a large tuna tank and penguin habitat within central Tokyo's most extensive public green space.
