Seiyo, Administrative city in Ehime Prefecture, Japan
Seiyo extends across 514 square kilometers between Uwa Bay and the Shikoku Mountains, featuring coastal areas, urban centers, and mountainous regions.
The city formed on April 1, 2004, through the merger of several towns within the former Iyo Province, which belonged to Uwajima Domain during the Edo period.
The Otoi Sumo Tournament in Nomura district maintains local wrestling traditions, while multiple museums present collections of agricultural tools and regional artifacts.
The Shikoku Railway Company operates the Yosan Line through Seiyo, connecting the city to major transportation routes across Ehime Prefecture.
The Shikoku Seiyo Geopark, certified in 2013, presents geological formations with elevation differences reaching 1,403 meters from sea level to mountain peaks.
