Beyond the arena, the facility includes training rooms, meeting spaces, and exhibition areas designed for various events and activities.

The building opened in 2005 after transforming a former hospital into a modern community center. This conversion gave the historical site new purpose and allowed the region to establish a hub for public gatherings and events.

The design reflects the region's deep connection to sumo wrestling, drawing inspiration from Tokyo's premier sumo stadium. This architectural choice shows how the community values and maintains ties to this traditional sport.
